FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 4 FC UNSWORTH u18s 3

FC United of Manchester Youth team were back in action on Wednesday morning with their first fixture of 2021, a home 4-3 friendly win against FC Unsworth u18s on the Broadhurst Park 3G.

This was the first match for the youth team since a 4-1 win against Rochdale EDS in December in the National League u19 Alliance, which, like many competitions, has since been curtailed.

Wednesday's visitors from Bury were the first on the scoresheet as their #19 latched on to a long clearance from the goalkeeper to prod the ball past Lenny Fieldhouse on 30 mins.

On 43 mins, the Young Reds were back on level terms, Michael Olayinka setting up KELVIN AMADO to steer his shot past the FC Unsworth 'keeper.

11 minutes into the second half, and FC United took the lead for the first time, Mason Beard sending MICHAEL OLAYINKA in for a acute-angled finish.

But the visitors were by no means out of the game, as was demonstrated when their #10 converted a right wing cross on 67 mins.

However, FC Unsworth u18s were only on level terms for three minutes, as JACK WARD put FC United back in front on 70 minutes from an Osman Agerso cross.

MASON BEARD looked to have made sure of the result on 82 mins when he took advantage of a Jack Ward assist to make it 4-2.

But there was still time for the visitors to pull one back just before the full time whistle with a low shot from their #15 which fizzed past Lenny Fieldhouse and into the net.
