After a closely matched opened half hour, the visitors opened the scoring on 38 minutes when LIAM THORNTON powered home a Jack Sloan cross from the left.

On 62 minutes, ’Dale Youth went 2-0 up, KEATON MULVEY bursting through the FC United defence before steering the ball past home ’keeper Mason Walker.

On 67 minutes, it was three-nil. The Young Reds failed to clear their lines properly and the ball fell invitingly to the visitors’ SHAUN NGWENYA who made no mistake.

MASON BEARD gave the home side a glimmer of hope on 69 minutes when he headed home from a lofted Connor Melling pass.

But SEAN O’MARA made sure of the result with a fourth for Rochdale on 89 minutes with a innocuous-looking shot that somehow squeezed in at the near post.

FC United of Manchester Youth are next in league action on Wednesday 13th November 2019 when they travel to Lower Breck Road, Liverpool to face Warrington Town Youth (KO 1.00 p.m.)
