FC UNITED of MANCHESTER ACADEMY 'A' TEAM 5 INTERNATIONAL HOUSE (MANCHESTER) 2
FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’A’ team came back from two goals down to record a creditable 5-2 home win against International House (Manchester) in Wednesday’s afternoon’s home friendly match on the Broadhurst Park 3G.

The visitors had started well and took the lead on just 3 minutes when an unmarked UNAIZ SHANGANI netted from the edge of the six yard box.

The Young Reds might have drawn level on 12 minutes after Emmanuel Ujahchuku was tripped just inside the penalty area. However, Dylan Blackledge blazed his spot kick high and wide and the opportunity was gone.

Worse was to follow for FC United when International House then went 2-0 up on 26 minutes. The ball was played back from the bye line to ARSHIA ELAHI who threaded the ball home through a crowd of players.

On 36 minutes, the home side at last pulled one back. Dylan Blackledge was in the right place to set up TAWAB DJANKPATA who finished coolly under the visiting ’keeper.

Two minutes later, it was 2-2. Kevin Zokou won a free kick for FC United, and DYLAN BLACKLEDGE made up for his earlier penalty miss by rifling home the free kick from fully 30 yards out.

And on 45 minutes, the first half comeback was complete when TAWAB DJANKPATA took full advantage of hesitant defending to edge FC United in front at the half-time interval.

Into the second half, and with FC United just a single goal up, the next goal was to prove crucial, and it came on 50 minutes when Tawab Djankpata beat a number of players before setting up KEVIN ZOKOU to prod the ball home from two yards out.

International House then rallied briefly and had the ball in the net on 80 minutes, but the effort was flagged off for offside.

With the clock running down, there was still time for TAWAB DJANKPATA to complete his hat-trick, curling the ball into an unguarded net on 90 minutes to make the final score 5-2.

FC United of Manchester Academy ’A’ team are next due to be in action on Wednesday 1st May 2019 with an away league fixture against The Football College, Manchester. Men’s 1sts. (Venue and KO time awaiting confirmation).
