FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 9 STALYBRIDGE CELTIC FC YOUTH 1
The FC United of Manchester Youth team recorded a season-best 9-1 home win against Stalybridge Celtic FC Youth on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon in their latest National League u19 Alliance Division ’J’ league fixture.

And this was despite losing goalkeeper Sam Mills mid-way through the first half after an accidental collision with team-mate Robel Kesete that saw both players having to go off.

The Young Reds had taken an early lead on just 3 minutes when MAX LEWENS collected a long through ball from Stephen Adeniya before scoring comfortably.

After the six minute stoppage for medical treatment, the visitors drew level on 33 minutes when an unmarked JAMES POWER headed home a corner from six yards out.

FC United weren’t to be denied, however, and regained the lead on 45 minutes when Olvy Belezika set up SAM IWEGBU who made no mistake from close range,

And in the second minute of first half injury time, DILLON KIRKMAN curled the ball home from the edge of the area to make the score at the interval 3-1.

On 68 minutes, substitute Niall Webb cleverly set up DILLON KIRKMAN for the latter’s second to make it 4-1.

On 73 minutes, it was 5-1. SAM IWEGBU collected a long ball, this time from Sam Harding, before netting easily.

A twenty-five yarder by DILLON KIRKMAN on 76 minutes saw the midfielder complete his hat-trick, to make it 6-1.

SAM IWEGBU then completed his hat-trick with an individual effort on 79 minutes to make it 7-1.

On 89 minutes, a mazy run by Abdul Muktadir set up KANE STOCKLEY who blasted the ball into the roof of the net to make it 8-1, and there was still time for NIALL WEBB to add the ninth, courtesy of an assist from Xavier Iwegbu, this in the 2nd minute of second half time added on.

Stalybridge played gamely but were hampered when they incurred a number of second half injuries of their own and by having only two substitutes available to use.

FC United of Manchester Youth team are next in action on Wednesday 31st October 2018 with a home league fixture against Marine AFC Youth (KO 2 pm).
