FC UNITED of MANCHESTER ACADEMY 'B' TEAM 6 THE FOOTBALL COLLEGE (CENTRAL MANCHESTER) MEN's 1sts 3
Second-placed FC United of Manchester’s Academy ’B’ team registered a hard fought victory against third-placed The Football College (Central Manchester) Men’s 1sts in the ECFA NW Men’s Invitation 3A League with this 6-3 home win on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Tuesday afternoon.

XAVIER IWEGBU opened the scoring for the Young Reds after just 44 seconds when he latched on to a Kane Stockley pass before blasting home to put the home side 1-0 up.

But moments later, KAI DEL-RIO burst through the middle to fire home a 4th minute equaliser for the visitors.

And on 8 minutes, the visitors went 2-1 ahead when pacy forward MALACHI CLARKE netted from six yards out.

The FC United of Manchester Academy ’B’ team weren’t fazed and deservedly drew level on 32 minutes; MAX LEWENS smashing the ball through the ’keeper’s hands from close range.

Into the second half, and on 48 minutes, the Young Reds regained the lead; ABDUL MUKTADIR heading home from a Dillon Kirkman pass from the right.

A minute later, it was 3-3, the away side’s KAI DEL-RIO beating the offside trap to score easily.

But the visitors were to be back on level terms for less than a minute, as ABDUL MUKTADIR swept home another teasing Dillon Kirkman cross on 50 minutes to make it 4-3.

A clever turn and pass by Max Lewens set up NIALL WEBB to make it 5-3 on 71 minutes.

And there was still time for XAVIER IWEGBU to make sure of the final result with a storming run on 83 minutes before finishing from close range to make the full-time score 6-3.
