FC United of Manchester Academy ’B’ team’s pre-season campaign continued on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon with a 6-0 home win against Rochdale AFC’s EDS Academy Team.
The Young Reds opened the scoring after just three minutes when Abdul Kadri Asamoah’s long through ball found MAX LEWINS unmarked who then steered the ball home past the visiting ’keeper for the opening goal.
On 7 minutes, it was 2-0. Abdul Kadri Asamoah’s heels were clipped on the edge of the penalty area and NIALL WEBB sent the goalkeeper the wrong way from the 12 yard spot.
On 14 minutes, MAX LEWINS made it 3-0 with a low shot across the ’keeper, and on 17 minutes, the same player completed his hat-trick with an effort that beat the ’keeper at the near post to make it 4-0.
A second goal by NIALL WEBB on 37 minutes, set up again by Abdul Kadri Asamoah, completed the first half goalscoring.
The visitors re-grouped in the second half and FC United were only able to add one more goal, which was scored with a low shot by ALEX OYEWOLE on 68 minutes, to make the final score 6-0.
