DARLINGTON FC YOUTH 3 FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 1
FC United of Manchester Youth team went down to a 3-1 away defeat against Darlington FC Youth at the Eastbourne Sports Complex in their latest National League u19 Alliance ’J’ Division league fixture on Wednesday afternoon.

After a promising opening period in which the visitors had taken the lead on just 7 minutes, this when MASON GREGG scored from the edge of the penalty area, the Young Reds were then unable to press home their early advantage.

On 30 minutes, Darlington Youth equalised when ADAM BEARPARK chipped the ball over ’keeper Sulaiman Sajjad.

The Young Reds might have regained the lead after Mason Gregg was tripped by the home goalkeeper inside the 18 yard box, but Elliot Jorge Simoes Inacio’s spot kick on 35 minutes hit the upright and was cleared away.

The miss was to prove crucial, when on 73 minutes, Darlington’s RYAN NOON outstripped the visiting defence to put the home side ahead for the first time with a close range effort.

Elliot Jorge Simoes Inacio was denied again when a goalbound effort was tipped onto the crossbar by home netminder Marshall Topham on 87 minutes, before VINNIE STEELS made sure of the result for Darlington on 89 minutes with a low shot that made the final score 3-1.
