FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 6 HARROGATE TOWN AFC YOUTH 1
FC United of Manchester Youth recorded their highest league win of the season so far with this 6-1 home win against Harrogate Town AFC Youth in the National League u19 Alliance ’J’ Division on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon with in-form MAX LEWENS scoring four of the Young Reds’ six goals

After an early Steve Affleck effort had been tipped round the post by the Harrogate ’keeper, MAX LEWENS opened the scoring for FC United of Manchester Youth with a breakaway goal on 24 minutes.

On 30 minutes, NELSON ONWUSIRI made it 2-0 with a low shot that wrong-footed the visitors custodian, before Harrogate pulled one back on 33 minutes when JOEL FRANCIS finished from close range after home ’keeper Sulaiman Sajjad could only partially save a long range free kick.

Six minutes before half-time, BEN FLETCHER restored the home side’s two goal advantage when he headed home from a Max Lewens cross from the left before MAX LEWENS netted his second, and the Young Reds’ fourth, on 43 minutes.

And there was still time for LEWENS to complete his hat-trick during time added on, making the score at the half-time interval 5-1.

The second half was much more evenly matched as a contest, and the FC United of Manchester Youth team were only able to add one further goal, MAX LEWENS firing home his fourth of the match from the left on 64 minutes after being set up by Harry Kershaw.
