FC United narrowly defeated in friendly by Fleetwood Town
FC United were narrowly defeated 2-1 by Fleetwood Town in an entertaining friendly, the last one before the season starts on Saturday.

Fleetwood took the lead on 10 minutes when a cross from the left was side footed in by Ashley Nadeson. The goal sparked a mini onslaught in the FC goal with Harrison Biggins shooting just over and Nadeson hitting the bar.

Just as it seemed the Reds were being swamped, they started to get into the half, Nathan Lowe rattling the bar from a long range shot and Lewis Lacy seeing a header tipped onto the bar by Billy Crellin.

Lloyd Allison was also called into action, saving well from Ashley Hunter.

Shortly before halftime the woodwork was struck for the fourth time as Hunter saw a chip hit the bar.

The second half was just seconds old when Jason St Juste burst down the left and pulled the ball back to Lowe to finish well. Five minutes later a mix up in the Fleetwood defence let in Connor McCarthy who took a touch too many and ended up shooting wide.

With six minutes to go, Fleetwood scored the winner with Wes Burns turning and firing home from a corner. The game was entertaining with both sides contributing.

Website man of the match: Lewis Lacy edges out Nathan Lowe thanks to some great touches and link up play.
