FC United of Manchester Youth went down 4-1 to top-of-the-table FC Halifax Town Youth at a rain-drenched West Riding County FA ground in the National League u19 Alliance ’J’ Division on Wednesday afternoon.


The West Yorkshire side went ahead on 38 minutes when MARKO BASIC smashed home a cross from the right to give the home side a one goal interval lead.

On 47 minutes, FC United of Manchester Youth drew level when Will Shawcross’s saved shot was then unluckily diverted into the net off Halifax defender JACK JOHNSON for an own-goal.

On 58 minutes, the home side regained their lead when JACOB HEATLEY scored from close range.

On 82 minutes, ROSS BARROWS added a third and with the clock running down, the same player added another in the dying seconds to make the final score 4-1.

FC Halifax Town Youth now need one win from their remaining three league games to be sure of lifting the National League u19 Alliance ’J’ Division for season 2016-2017.
