Strong response to club’s committee call

Our co-owners have responded in magnificent fashion to our call for volunteers to join our new committee structure.

A total of 58 people have come forward offering to work for FC United’s new committees, which will help support the club and the board in delivering our new five-year Vision.

“This is the biggest mobilisation of volunteers for many years at the club and we are really pleased with the response,” said board chair Adrian Seddon.
“We’ve got quality as well as quantity, with high calibre applicants offering a broad range of the skills and experience we were hoping to see on the new committees. This really demonstrates that our co-owners are the club’s greatest asset.
“I’d like to say thank you to everyone who has come forward and the board is excited about seeing the committees take their place within the overall new management structure at the club.”

The committees will sit alongside our new senior management structure at FC United:

  • Head of Football & Academy: Neil Reynolds
  • Head of Commercial & Marketing: Harriett Russell
  • Head of Operations & Finance: Vacancy, TBC

The committees are:

  1. Commercial
  2. Communications
  3. Community
  4. Co-ownership
  5. Football
  6. Strategy & Governance (formerly the Stakeholder Relations Committee)

Each committee will be responsible for key areas in support of the club, with delegated authority from the board within pre-agreed parameters, and will provide strategic thinking and activity in conjunction with, and to support, the Heads-of; and will provide recommendations to the board for review and approval.

All applications and committee places are currently being reviewed by the task groups set up to oversee the establishment of the committee structure. Once all committee places have been filled, the board will review and approve the structure and we’ll respond to all applicants (by the end of this month).
Committees will convene in February and will report to the board on a regular basis.
