Six FC United Youth Players appear in Manchester FA County TeamOn Saturday 1st October, six FC United youngsters appeared in the Manchester FA County Team where FC’s Will Shawcross scored both of the goals in the team’s 4-2 AET defeat against Nottinghamshire FA.

On Saturday 1st October, six FC United youth team players represented the Manchester FA County Team in the FA County Cup away at Nottinghamshire FA.

FC United’s Jack Ward captained the side which also saw Mason Davies, Mike Jones, Steeve Ombougno Affonga Eddy and Will Shawcross in the starting eleven with Keenan Tuck coming on as substitute.

Nottinghamshire FA were leading 1-0 at half time, but FC’s Will Shawcross scored in the 56th minute to bring the scores level. Notts FA went 2-1 ahead four minutes later but Shawcross struck again on 70 minutes from a free-kick. With the score at 2-2 after 90 minutes the match went into extra time. Notts made it 3-2 early in the 2nd half of extra-time followed by a fourth with 2 minutes left.

Of the players who represented Manchester FA County team, Mike Jones, Mason Davies, Steeve Eddy, Jack Ward, Keenan Tuck and Will Shawcross have all appeared in the FC’s Youth Cup team this season with Jones, Davies, Eddy, Ward and Shawcross also making appearances for the Reserves.

This Wednesday 5th October ko 7.45pm , FC United’s Youth team host Gateshead Youth in the 2nd Qualifying Round FA Youth Cup on the main pitch at Broadhurst Park.

In the Preliminary Round of the FA Youth Cup, FC United’s Youth Team beat Curzon Ashton 3-0 at home thanks to goals from Jack Ward, Jack Preston and Jack O’Leary in front of a crowd of 391.

In the 1st Qualifying Round away at Ashton Town Youth on 22nd September FC ran out 4-2 winners with goals from Kamahl Fuller, Cameron Horner, Keenan Tuck and Sam Baird.
