Scarborough fixture reversed. FC United at home Saturday 26th SeptFC United will now host Scarborough Athletic FC in the Pitching In Northern Premier League at Broadhurst Park on Saturday 26th September with a 3pm kick-off.

With our Covid capacity remaining at 600 for this game, attendance for home supporters will be restricted to season ticket holders and Ten Match Ticket Book holders who also register for attendance with 510 spaces available on a first come, first served basis. Details will be announced on Monday.

Scarborough have been allocated 15% of our capacity (90 tickets) and away fans should refer to their club for ticket information.

We are aware that such a late change will cause inconvenience to our supporters, staff and volunteers and can only apologise. It will also mean five fixtures on the pitch in eight days, which we know will have a detrimental effect.

We were made aware on Friday evening that Scarborough would be unable to fulfill the fixture at home with supporters and have been liaising with their club and the league. On Saturday evening, having considered the limited options, we advised them that we would be prepared to host the match and this has now been sanctioned by the league.

In this most difficult of seasons, not for the first time, we have made a pragmatic decision based on what was the least bad option. There is a real risk that the pandemic will force future postponements and it is important that we make every effort to play matches whenever possible if we are to get through the season.

To give us the best chance of completing this season we must be adaptable and compromises will need to be made which we hope our supporters will understand. It should also be noted that manager Neil Reynolds was consulted throughout this process and is supportive of the move.

We are now due to travel to Scarborough on Saturday 9th January 2021.

Many thanks for your understanding.
