Reynolds to make immediate changes following Saturday’s performance. Following Saturday’s unacceptable performance at home to Nuneaton Borough, FC United manager Neil Reynolds will be making immediate changes to the first team squad in preparation to next Saturday’s away trip to Darlington.

In his post-match interview with Ben Hughes and Roy Soule on Saturday, Reno made it clear that the performance and attitude shown from some of the players was clearly unacceptable, and would be taking immediate action.

FC United had the opportunity to close the gap on Guiseley with a home win against bottom placed team Nuneaton. The 4-0 home defeat was arguably the worst performance in the club’s 14 year history and has almost certainly relegated the club to the Northern Premier League.

Since Saturday, Reno has spoken to a number of players about their future at the club and he will continue to speak to others prior to first team training on Tuesday. He has already committed to accelerating the introduction of at least four of FC United’s table topping under-21s players for Saturdays game at Darlington.

This season, in the North West Under 21 Development League, FCs Under-21s team have gained 58 points, winning 19, drawing two and losing two, scoring 77 goals and conceding 16.

Four of the current U/21s players, (Henry Limpitshi Bongwanga, Jan Palinkas, Jack Grimshaw, and Salou McDowell-Jallow) have already made first team appearances this season. Also registered to play for the first team are Mark West, Will Ozono and Under-18 player Dillon Kirkman.

We will be announcing the squad for Saturday later this week via the club website.
