This year’s annual People United Day will take place at Broadhurst Park for the very first time on Saturday 14th November 2015 against Gainsborough Trinity.
We have received funding from "Fans for Diversity" as well as ’FARE’ and have delivered workshops around the theme of Diversity in 7 schools, with over 250 young people, over the last 3 weeks. The workshops consisted of a discussion with the young participants around diversity, equality and inclusion and the remainder was focused on creating a banner around what they had learned in the workshop. These banners will now be displayed at the above match with all participants invited to attend the match to display their work.
We have also arranged for more than 180 young people to view the 2 exhibitions we have at our ground at the moment. These exhibitions came from "Football Unites, Racism Divides" and focuses on Arthur Wharton (the first black footballer) and the role refugees have had in football in the past and on the present day. The exhibitions will be available to visit in the ground until the end of November and we encourage our co-owners to come and view them at their leisure.
Please give all our participants a warm FC welcome and enjoy the day!
