Goodbye to Nicky Platt
FC United are sorry to announce the departure of Nicky Platt. On Monday evening Nicky informed manager Karl Marginson that after giving it a lot of thought he’s decided to accept an offer to play for Stalybridge Celtic in the Conference North next season. Margy said: "I’m very sorry to see Nicky leave, but of course I wouldn’t want to stand in his way if he wants to try his luck at a higher level." Everyone at FC United would like to wish Nicky every success in the future ... except of course if he plays against us.
Hello to James Brackenridge
We’d like to welcome our newest recruit, James Brackenridge. The young midfielder was with Manchester City until the age of 16, then played for Sheffield Wednesday’s youth team until he was released by them. James has recently been out of football for a short while, as so often happens when young players are released by League clubs, but he’s joined FC United with renewed enthusiasm. Margy said: "James is a very talented player and I’m delighted he’s decided to play again. I’m looking forward to working with him."
