When it became apparent that the global pandemic would mean that the funds we had allocated to vital pitch remediation needed to be used to keep the club alive, we lauched a Crowd-funding exercise to try to ensure we lost no more games due to pitch degredation.
We aimed for £15,000 which was required for the most urgent work under the pitch at the St Mary’s Road End as the drains had failed and needed to be replaced, then when we hit that target within 48 hours we increased the target to £30,000 to also cover the koro-ing which meant that the whole playing surface would be refreshed.
We are simply astounded and humbled by how our fans rallied round to support the club in the face of a global health crisis where for many the future is uncertain, Board member Adrian Seddon wanted to pass on this thanks which you can see here:

Head Groundsman and Manager Neil Reynolds wanted to also say a few words of thanks to everyone who contributed.

We are currently working on a start date with the contractor and will bring news and footage of the work as it progresses, but once again, thank you, this is your club and you’ve done us all proud.
