Chris Doyle (24) is a central defender who joins FC United from Marine.
Before officially joining FC United, Doyle featured in the two recent pre-season friendlies for the Reds, making his debut away at Chorley and getting himself on the scoresheet at home to Chester.
In his early football years he spent time in the Everton Academy from the age of 10 to 14 before joining Dickie Danson’s youth setup at Morecambe. He signed a pro-contract at the age of 17 at the start of the 2012-13 season and made his 1st team debut in Morecambe’s 3–0 win against Rochdale coming on as a late sub.
Doyle had a successful loan period at Chorley FC till the end of the 2014-15 season scoring 5 times in 26 appearances. He signed an extended 12-month contract with Morecambe at start of 2015–16 season. He was released by Morecambe in May 2016 and joined Southport but suffered a serious knee injury.
Doyle joined his home-town team of Marine in July 2018 after being lured back into football and made 37 appearances, scoring 6 goals.
