Meet our new Head of Commercial & Marketing : Harriet Russell

We have strengthened our senior management team with the appointment of our new Head of Commercial and Marketing

We have strengthened our senior management team with the appointment of our new Head of Commercial and Marketing.

Harriet Russell joins us from Fraser House Hub in Lancaster, a state-of-the-art co-working space for tech and digital businesses, where she was appointed to grow and manage a collaborative working community.

Harriet has a broad skill set having also worked at senior level in several other sectors, from creative design to hospitality and events.

Harriet brings a strong background in sales and marketing with a proven track record of building strong relationships and generating income.

With Harriet’s appointment alongside Neil Reynolds as Head of Football and Academy Principal, and Paul Smith as Head of Operations and Finance, we complete the new management structure at Broadhurst Park that will help us deliver our vision and five-year plan. (Read more about this here.)

Harriet said: “The opportunity for FC to grow is about more than 90 minutes on the pitch; our new five-year vision and plan, based largely on co-owners’ ambitions, provides the perfect backbone for my work to help develop the club.

“Just as excitingly, we now have a brilliant opportunity for the new management team and forthcoming committees to work together on an overall approach to help grow the club. I’m looking forward to working closely with Neil Reynolds and Paul Smith, and the committees, to do just that.

“Over the past few weeks, I’ve been attending matches and talking to supporters about their thoughts and hopes for the club’s future. It has been invaluable and hugely inspiring to hear these stories and thank you to everyone who has taken the time to chat to me. You’ve helped me start to understand and embrace the culture of the club and think about the best way to represent FC United.

“I am committed to increasing the club’s income in a variety of ways, working closely with the Commercial Committee. The key areas I intend to focus on initially will be reviewing our internal systems and use of data to maximise efficiency and ensuring our digital presence is up to date and reflective of our ambitions.

“Additionally, I am aiming to revitalise the match day experience to draw larger crowds from a wide range of backgrounds, while networking and engaging with the communities and businesses of Manchester and building meaningful relationships with the key stakeholders that can support FC's future success.

“We are about to embark on a new phase of development that will be talked about for years to come, and I hope you will welcome me with the same enthusiasm with which I join you.”

Harriet starts her new role at FC United on Thursday November 18th. Please join us in welcoming her to the club.
