Match Preview: FC United vs Brackley Town

Match Preview: FC United vs Brackley TownWe are back at home today in the league as we look to put three points on the board against Brackley Town.

It’s been a positive two weeks or for FC, as we announced the managerial appointment of Neil Reynolds who will take charge of his first home game today.

Following the appointment, we managed to end our run of eight games in the league without a win, with a victory over Kidderminster Harriers in our last game.

The club has also added some new additions to the coaching staff, as Reynolds looks to implement his style of play on the team.

Jamie Milligan joins Reynolds as his assistant manager having worked closely together at Bamber Bridge and they are joined by Mike Faulkner who is now the clubs’ Head of Player Development & Analysis.

The game today could be seen as the perfect opportunity for FC to climb out of the relegation zone and progress up the table, but we would need results to go in our favour.

Our opponents Brackley Town (nicknamed The Saints) are one of the strongest teams in this division. Brackley are currently sat in 5th place having won three out of their last five games in all competitions.

Last season they were so close to promotion, having finished third in the league before eventually losing out in the play-off final against Harrogate Town.

This year, it looks as though they are not resting on their laurels having picked up 21 points from a possible 39.

The main provider of their goals this season has been James Armson. The former Nuneaton player, currently has eight goals in the league so far this season from midfield.

Facts:

FCUM won the first meeting against the Saints in October 2015 but have drawn 1 and lost 4 of the following 5 clashes.

FCUM had 7 starters under the age of 21 at Kidderminster Harriers last Saturday and 5 substitutes under 21, using 3 of them. The average age of the starting eleven was 22.

FCUM have won only one of their last six meetings in all competitions against Brackley Town.
