Kit it Out Crowdfunder campaign is halfway to its target

In a little over a week since it’s launch, the FC United "Kit it Out" campaign on Crowdfunder has raised more than £14,000, that’s more than 50% of the £26,000 target we set ourselves to raise funds to help kit out the function room and community space at our new ground in Moston. This is a magnificent response in such a short space of time and with the campaign open for another seven weeks, it gives us every chance of securing our target and funding the kit out.

FC United general manager Andy Walsh said: "I have to say a massive thank you to everyone who has helped us reach the halfway mark of our Crowdfunder campaign target. Raising more than £13,000 in a little over a week is a fantastic achievement and we are really grateful to everyone who has pledged their hard-earned cash to our club. It’s humbling to see this level of support and all the supportive comments on the site, which show that we have struck a real nerve with our stand for supporter ownership and a different way of doing football."

Notwithstanding the great start, it’s important that the pledges keep coming in. The campaign still needs to raise around £12,000 in order to hit its target of £26,000 and if we surpass that then we get to keep the extra funds that we can use to kit out other rooms at the ground.

If you’ve not pledged to the campaign yet then please consider doing so at http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/kit-it-out/updates/?

Please also take the time to forward the link to our Crowdfunder page to your friends and colleagues so they can help out too. The more money that we can bring in through Crowdfunder reduces the need for us to borrow and also helps us fit out the ground to a completion we can be proud of.

Andy Walsh said: "This is not just about FC United, this is about football fans fighting back against what we are told is the only way that football can be run. This is not just about what our existing supporter base can afford to give but it is also about persuading all those outside FC that our success will help pave the way to more clubs being in the hands of football fans instead of the likes of the Glazers the Tans and Allams."

There are some great rewards on offer for people who pledge to the campaign (surely there’s someone out there who wants to warm up on the pitch with our first team squad before a game?!!) and new rewards are being added very soon so keep an eye on the Crowdfunder page at http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/kit-it-out/updates/?

Once again, thanks to everyone for supporting this campaign. Let’s get that £26,000 target reached!
