FC United safe from relegation after Brackley draw with Telford

FC United are guaranteed a place in the Vanarama National League North for next season after Brackley Town drew 0-0 with Telford United on Tuesday night.

With Corby Town and Hednesford Town relegated, the result means that third from bottom Brackley can no longer catch the Reds with their two remaining games as Karl Marginson’s side are seven points ahead of the Northamptonshire club.

The six clubs immediately below FC United must now battle it out to avoid joining Corby and Hednesford in the level below. After securing safety in a sometimes difficult first season at level six of English football, everyone at the club will be looking forward to a fresh start next season and the opportunity to challenge further up the table.
