It has already been a successful early summer of fundraising at FC United and we are pleased to hear about FC member Asa Hood wanting to make it even better by raising further funds for the Club on an epic bike ride from coast to coast.
Asa takes up the story:-
“I have decided to do a 177 mile ride over 2 days from Morecambe to Bridlington in order to raise some funds for FC. I am a single dad of an autistic boy and I can only get to about one game a month, however, I felt strongly that I wanted to make a positive contribution to the Club and this is my way of trying to help as much as I can.
I am a bit of a fatty and this will be an epic ride for me and super hard. On the first day I will cover 77 very hilly miles with about 7,000ft of climbing. This will be the furthest I have ever ridden in one day and will then follow it up the day after with a ’century ride’ which will actually take me past Bridlington, and on to the scenic Flamborough Head. As a reward I will treat myself to a slap up meal in a place called the ’’Mega Bites Cafe’’ conveniently at the finish!
The route I will be taking can be found HERE
, setting off at 9:30am Saturday 7th June 2014, stopping in Ripon for an overnight stay and finishing at Flamborough Head at about 5.00pm Sunday
I have been in training for about 3 months but unfortunately suffered a calf tear and so was off the bike for 3 weeks until 2 weeks ago. I’m determined to finish it for FC no matter what. Please help me and our club by donating anything you can CLICK HERE
