Christmas Comforts and Big Coat Day 2019

Christmas Comforts and Big Coat Day 2019Each year FC United of Manchester arranges a collection of winter clothing to help the homeless and vulnerable during the winter months. Our BIG COAT initiative was launched in the clubs first season in 2005, and is the longest running part of our community programme. Down the years we have worked with a number of charities to get warm winter clothing to those most in need in the Manchester area.

On Christmas Day we will be opening up the doors of our stadium, Broadhurst Park, to the homeless and vulnerable, providing Christmas dinner, clothing, toiletry packs, presents for the children, along with party games and activities. A team of volunteers from the club give up their Christmas Day (and the days leading up to it) to try and make life a little better for those less fortunate.

Sheridan Lifts have very kindly stepped forward to support the event as the main sponsor, and thanks go also to Forever Manchester, The Energy Check,• Stockport Supporters Branch, the Manchester Health and Wellbeing Fund, and FCUM Juniors.

We continue to collect clothing over the festive period culminating with our BIG COAT DAY on the 11th January. The clothing collected, together with any surplus from Christmas Day enables us to continue to support the homeless and vulnerable into the cold winter months of the new year.
