Bhopal Medical Appeal Collection

Supporters of FC United held a collection on Saturday for the Bhopal Medical Appeal (BMA) raising £400.

The BMA has taken out a season-long advert in the match programme to promote their charity, in doing so they have expressed support for what we are trying to achieve here at FC United. The collection on Saturday goes someway to returning the favour.

Most of you will already be aware of the plight of the people of Bhopal and the terrible consequences of the gas leak from the Union Carbide factory in 1994. The programme advert explains why the charity was founded and why they have chosen to place an ad with our football club:

’One of us happens to be a founder member of FC United. We thought it would be a good idea to support each other as in different ways we’re both fighting the same battle, saying no to corporate greed and ruthlessness. FCUM, we’re proud of your success. We’d like to be part of it and hope you’ll be part of ours.’

More details of the charity and their work can be found at www.bhopal.org

Anyone who missed the collection on Saturday but would still like to donate then please visit the appeal fund website at www.bhopal.org or send your donation to the FC United office and we will ensure that your donation is sent on to the charity.
