FC United of Manchester Academy 'A' team's final Friday Friendly Development League fixture, before the Christmas and New Year holidays, saw Tom Conroy's side go down to a narrow 1-2 away defeat against Pro Direct Academy 1sts at the Armitage Centre, Fallowfield on Friday afternoon.
The visitors had got off to a good start, an Aaron Hughes shot hitting the side netting on 17 minutes, before the same player, AARON HUGHES, gave FC United the lead just a minute later, evading a number of challenges before finishing via an upright.
A goal behind at half time, the home side then got back into the game, early in the second half, when their number eleven shot past Lucas Wolstencroft from the edge of the 18 yard box.
Just as the game looked to be heading for a draw, the home side won a free kick on the far side in the final minute of normal time. Unfortunately, FC United failed to clear their lines, and the home number four was able to steer the ball home for the winner.
