FC United of Manchester Academy 'A' team were in Friday Development League action on Friday afternoon at the Moss Rose, going down, in a high scoring game, by six goals to four against a free scoring Macclesfield FC Academy 1sts.
The Young Reds got off to the worst possible of starts as the home No. 17 lobbed home the opening goal on just 5 minutes and a minute later they were two down as Macclesfield's No. 18 added a second.
On 8 minutes, AARON HUGHES pulled one back with a close range finish and then the same player, AARON HUGHES, grabbed a 22nd minute equaliser as he charged down an attempted clearance by the Macclesfield 'keeper.
In a ding-dong first half, Macclesfield edged back in front on 35 minutes with a close range finish from their No. 8 before AARON HUGHES completed his hat-trick a minute later with an angled shot into the corner of the net to make the half time score 3-3.
