FC United of Manchester Youth team put last week’s highly disappointing result behind them to take a share of points following this 2-2 home draw against Tranmere Rovers Youth on the Broadhurst Park 3G in Wednesday afternoon’s National League u19 Alliance ’H’ Division league encounter.
MIKLOS IMRE opened the scoring for the visitors when he headed home unopposed from a 7th minute corner.
Two minutes before the half term interval, FC United drew level. George Barboza finding MASON BEARD on the edge of the six yard box, his low shot sneaking just inside the post, thus making the half-time score 1-1.
On 80 minutes, FC United edged in front. George Barboza was again the provider, setting up MASON BEARD whose well-timed run beat the offside trap, before steering the ball past Tranmere ’keeper Charlie Letts from just inside the visitors’ penalty area for his second goal of the afternoon.
But there was still time for Tranmere substitute KRISTIAN MIKOLAJEWSKI to snatch an 88th minute equaliser for the visitors, to make the final score 2-2.
Next up for FC United of Manchester Youth is an away league fixture against Stockport County Youth (Wednesday 5th February 2020 - KO 1.30 pm at the Cheadle Heath Nomads ground in Cheadle).
