FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 5 STALYBRIDGE CELTIC YOUTH 0
FC United of Manchester Youth got back to winning ways with this convincing 5-0 home win against Stalybridge Celtic Youth in Wednesday afternoon’s latest National League u19 Alliance Division ’H’ league fixture on the Broadhurst Park 3G.

MASON BEARD opened the scoring for the Young Reds in the 8th minute after being set up by Zaid Baroudi. The FC United No. 9’s initial shot was parried by the Stalybridge Celtic ’keeper, but Beard was well placed to head the loose ball home.

On 27 minutes, FC United went 2-0 up, again through MASON BEARD this time hooking home a Zaid Baroudi through ball from just inside the penalty area after the visiting ’keeper had failed to properly clear his lines.

Five minutes later MASON BEARD completed a well-deserved first-half hat-trick, poking the ball home from close range as Zaid Baroudi did well to keep a long range Dylan Blackledge free-kick in play.

On 38 minutes, it was fellow striker ZAID BAROUDI on the score sheet as he netted from Dylan Blackledge corner kick to make the half-time score 4-0.

And the same player, ZAID BAROUDI, rounded off the scoring with FC United’s fifth goal on 47 minutes, after being set up by team captain Connor Melling.

Stalybridge ’keeper Konrad Gielniak then pulled off a number of smart saves to make sure that there was no further addition to the score.

FC United of Manchester Youth don’t have a fixture next Wednesday but are back in action the following Wednesday (26th February 2020) when they make the short trip to Heywood to take on Rochdale AFC Youth (KO 1.30 p.m.)
