Match Report
In what is perhaps best described as a passionate encounter dominated by a strong wind, the young reds played host to Prescot Cables at the Lancaster Club, departing with the visitors taking all three points with a 2-1 win. All the goals came in the second half and were all smash and grab raids on opposition defences.

Prescot played with the wind in the first half and the reds found it hard to get out of their own half and although the half ended goalless the visitors were in truth the only likely scorers. That changed in the second half as within seconds Yousif Yousif was able to break clear but shot wide.

Prescot opened the scoring shortly afterwards when with a break down the left; a testing cross was headed home almost unopposed. FC United equalised just before the hour mark, Kial Callacher hit a free kick from near the half way line, which Yousif, from a position on the edge of the box where Prescot set their defensive line, anticipated the kick and was able to run in and head home. Soon afterwards Prescot number 10 Connor McCarthy was sent from the pitch after one of a number of incidents which saw many players become involved.

The game was won in the last ten minutes when Prescot were allowed to break past the FC midfield and slot home.
