Match Report
FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 0 AFC FYLDE YOUTH 0

There were chances aplenty but no goals as the FC United of Manchester Youth team drew 0-0 with AFC Fylde Youth in their latest National League u19 Alliance ’J’ Division league fixture on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon.

FC United Youth’s Cameron Horner came closest for the home side in the first half with a curling shot that hit the crossbar on 38 minutes and Keenan Tuck was similarly unlucky to see an effort rebound off the metalwork and into the visiting ’keeper’s hands just before the half-time interval.

On 59 minutes, Cameron Horner hit the metalwork once again shortly before Steve Affleck’s low shot towards the corner of the net was turned around the upright by AFC Fylde Youth ’keeper Max Povey as FC United Youth sought to score an elusive opener.

On 88 minutes, the Young Reds finally had the ball in the net, but Francisco Frangillo’s close range header was chalked off for an infringement and it was left for home goalkeeper Thomas Bamber to pull off a smart save in the fifth minute of time added on to prevent AFC Fylde Youth from snatching a late winner.
