FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH TEAM 0 ACCRINGTON STANLEY XI 7
FC United of Manchester’s Youth team went down to a rather heavy 0-7 home defeat in Tuesday afternoon’s closed doors friendly against an Accrington Stanley XI on the main Broadhurst Park stadium pitch.

Superior finishing ability was the main difference between the two sides as was demonstrated when the visitors took the lead after just 2 minutes when JACK BOLTON scored in their first attack.

FC United’s Xavier Iwegbu did have the ball in the net on 30 minutes but the "goal" was disallowed for an infringement during the build-up.

On 34 minutes, the visitors went 2-0 up when JACK BOLTON took advantage of a poor back pass to round the ’keeper and net easily.

And a minute before the half time interval, ROB APTER made it 3-0 with a clever turn and a fierce finish which gave custodian Tom Bamber no chance in the FC United goal.

On 47 minutes, a ball down the middle allowed LEWIS GILBOY to add goal number four for the visitors, and on 63 minutes it was 5-0 when CHARLIE RIDGE steered the ball home from the edge of the six yard box.

Sam Harding went close for FC United with an effort over the bar on 76 minutes, but the next goal was another for the Accrington Stanley XI as JACK BOLTON blasted home his hat-trick on 79 minutes.

LEWIS GILBOY rounded off the scoring with goal number seven on 88 minutes for the visitors to make the final score 0-7, a result which underlined the difference between the two sides.
