FC United of Manchester Youth extended their mid-season unbeaten run to five games with this 4-1 home win against Marine AFC u19s in the National League u19 Alliance Division 'H' on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon.
But they had to come from behind after the visitors had taken a deserved 6th minute lead through LIAM PATON, placing his shot wide of Josh Brooks in the FC United goal.
An impassioned half time team talk by FC United Youth team manager Tom Conroy seemed to have the desired effect as a resurgent home side quickly countered in the second half.
On 53 minutes, Sandro Da Costa set up YANN DARYL TCHOKOTCHEU for the FC United No. 9 to steer the ball past Jake Barrow in the Marine AFC goal.
On 61 minutes, a long wind-assisted clearance from goalkeeper Josh Brooks allowed SANDRO DA COSTA to burst through the visitors' defence to make it 2-1.
Sandro Da Costa was then also involved in the third goal on 70 minutes, his cross field pass from the right picking out substitute ANDY UDUEBOR who made no mistake.
And fellow substitute AARON HUGHES made sure of the result on 84 minutes, scoring from the narrowest of angles, to make the final score 4-1.
FC United of Manchester Youth are next in action on Wednesday 26th January 2022 when they travel to Huddersfield Amateur FC's Old Earth ground to play a FC Halifax Town Youth XI (KO 1.30 p.m.)
