FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH TEAM 1 ECCLEHILL UNITED FC U19S
FC United of Manchester Youth maintained their unbeaten start to the National League u19 Alliance Division 'H' league season with this 1-1 home draw against West Yorkshire based Eccleshill United FC u19s on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon.
The Young Reds had made an excellent start, taking the lead from a 6th minute penalty. Arlo Buller had been fouled just inside the area and up stepped TOBY HUMPHRIES to send visiting 'keeper Isaac Khan the wrong way from the 12 yard spot.
And it might have been 2-0 on 26 minutes. A long clearance by home 'keeper Josh Brooks was played on by Sandro Da Costa but frontman Taylor McDowell could only steer his effort wide of goal.
The miss was eventually to prove costly. On 85 minutes, Philip Nkomo was fouled just outside the home penalty area, and up stepped BENNI WILKINSON to fire home a curling 25 yard free kick for the equaliser.
And it might possibly have been a worse outcome for the home side, as Eccleshill had the ball in the net in the 91st minute, the effort however promptly chalked off for a foul in the build up.
Next week, FC United of Manchester Youth are back in National League u19 Alliance Division 'H' league action as they host City of Liverpool u19s (Broadhurst Park 3G, Wednesday 17th November 2021, KO 1.00 p.m.)
