FC United of Manchester Academy 'A' team eased through to the Second Round of the ECFA/AoC Sport Men's Knockout Trophy competition with this 5-1 home First Round win over iSports FC Sale on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Wednesday afternoon.
AARON HUGHES opened the scoring for the Young Reds, at the second attempt, on 23 minutes, before setting up RENATO NEVES for goal number two on 26 minutes.
On 63 minutes, substitute Sam Oludoyi set up GOLD BADMUS for a third goal before iSports hit back through LOGAN WARBURTON's glancing 77th minute header to briefly reduce the arrears.
But any hopes of a late comeback were quashed when KIERAN NEWTON was fouled in the area, and the FC United No. 14 picked himself up to send visiting 'keeper Josh Griffin the wrong way from the 12 yards mark to make it 4-1 on 81 minutes.
And DYLAN CLARKE made sure of the result with a well struck 35 yard effort on 89 minutes.
