CITY of LIVERPOOL u19s 1 FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 1
FC United of Manchester Youth team extended their recent unbeaten National League u19 Alliance run to four games with this 1-1 away Division 'H' draw against City of Liverpool u19s at the Heron Eccles sports complex in West Allerton on Wednesday afternoon.
It was the home side who looked the more dangerous in the early stages, with their No. 9 Chris Happi-Fankum netting early on, only for the "goal" to be disallowed, before eventually scoring at the second attempt on 44 minutes to give City of Liverpool u19s a 1-0 half-time lead.
A half-time triple substitution gave FC United fresh impetus going into the second half, and Sandro Da Costa was unlucky to see a looping long range effort rebound off the home crossbar on 68 minutes.
A minute later, City of Liverpool u19s almost grabbed a second, visiting captain Will Unsworth having to head clear via the FC United crossbar.
This was to prove crucial just moments later, FC United's SANDRO DA COSTA collecting the ball in the middle of the City of Liverpool half, before unleashing a swerving long range effort that flew past Louis Lindom in the home goal for a 72nd minute equaliser.
Next up for the Young Reds is a home National League u19 Alliance fixture against Marine FC u19s on Wednesday 19th January 2022. (Broadhurst Park 3G, KO 2.00 p.m.)
