Board resignations

Board resignationsMembers may already be aware that both Pete Cranmer and Peter Thwaites have resigned from the board with immediate effect. Both are stepping down with a heavy heart but unfortunately they feel that due to personal circumstances and work commitments that they are no longer able to devote the time and energy necessary to fulfil the demands of being a board member. Sometimes life gets in the way of helping to run a football club. However, both Pete and Peter have said that they would be very happy to continue to help the club and its board out in whatever way they can.

Both have worked incredibly hard for the club since their election last year and the remaining nine board members would like to place on record their thanks for the dedication and efforts Pete and Peter brought to their roles. Pete, as board lead for fundraising, has overseen a string of important fundraising events over the course of the last twelve months including May’s successful Gala Dinner and Supporters’ Dinner. Whilst Peter’s background in human resources has been invaluable in enabling the club to review its operational structure and recruit to key positions (including overseeing Damian Chadwick’s appointment as Chief Executive and Viv Ware’s appointment as Club Secretary) and in ensuring that the club fulfils its obligations as an employer to all its staff.

All members will have the opportunity to stand for election to the board at the next AGM in November. However, for now, the remaining nine board members will take on the responsibilities that Pete and Peter had.

Thanks very much to Pete and Peter for their considerable efforts over the last year. We look forward to seeing you on the terrace rather than in the boardroom at Broadhurst Park next season.
