On Wednesday 24th May from 6:30pm, the Main Stand Function Room at Broadhurst Park will be open showing the Europa League Cup Final between Manchester United and Ajax.

It is free to attend and all are welcome.

There is no age restriction, so children with accompanying adults are welcome to enjoy the match in pleasant and friendly surroundings. Car parking at the ground is also available free of charge.

The Function Room will be open from 6.30pm until 12 midnight. Access can be gained via the Main Reception. The match kicks-off at 7.45pm. Hot food and drinks available to buy. Last orders is 11pm.

The Final, which is being broadcast by BT Sport (but also able to Freeview customers) will be shown on the number of large TV screens situated throughout the Function Room. (In December 2016, FC United Members voted in favour of the club making use of the free subscriptions offered by the League partner BT Sports.)

This will be the second time this season where FC United fans have celebrated United’s participation in a European Final. On 15th April, prior to our home match with Brackley Town, we hosted a new event called ‘If the Reds Should Play...’ which brought together over 200 FC United supporters of all ages to share their stories about their ‘United Following Days’. The focus that day was Rotterdam 91, with guest speaker (and former United player) Clayton Blackmore, together with stories from fans who followed United away in Europe that season.

The event was a huge success with supporters also bringing along a huge range of memorabilia from that memorable night in Rotterdam. Interestingly, the 1990/91 season mirrored United’s fortunes this season, with United competing in the League Cup Final, a European Final and finishing 6th in the league.

So, if you live in the local area and want to watch a European Final inside a football ground; or if you are an FC United fan who wants to watch the final with like-minded Reds, knowing that all the money generated from the night will be reinvested into your football club, please come along.
