Apple pressing event with the FC Diggers - Saturday 29th October 12 noon onwards

The FC Diggers along with friends from Make Britain Blossom & the Moss Cider Project are organising an Apple pressing event at Broadhurst Park.

The Moss Cider project, which donated the 24 Cider Apple trees in the large tubs to FC United earlier in the year, are helping press & juice the apples from those trees with their own special mobile press.

Their peddled powered Rack & Cloth press has been touring Manchester & Salford in the last few weeks, pressing apples at various community events and now its coming to Moston.

However, we’ve not got quite enough apples from our trees to kick start our first attempt to make some Moston Cider.

So we asking if supporters can bring donations of any spare apples to the ground on Saturday.

If you have any apples left over on trees in gardens or allotments you don’t want, (or you even missed the deadline for donating to the Moss Cider project), they will be gratefully received and duly squeezed on the day.

The FC Diggers hope they can get enough juice to be able to leave a few small barrels quietly fermenting away at Broadhurst Park to create the first Broadhurst Park Cider as well as having some fresh juice to drink on the day.

Apple donations from 12 noon onwards. The pressing will start at 1pm.
