On Tuesday 25th October kick-off 7:45pm, FC United travel to FC Halifax Town in the National League North - This match is pay on the gate.
FC United will go into Tuesday night’s match in confident mood following Saturday’s 2-0 win over Kidderminster. Like Kiddy, Halifax were relegated from the National League last season, but have hopes for a quick return and are currently 4th in the league.
Halifax’s leading scorer is Tom Denton (10 league goals). FC United fans may remember the 6’ 7??? striker from his spells with Worksop and North Ferriby.
Another Halifax player FC fans may recall is Scott McManus who made 47 appearances for FC United in 2010/11 season. McManus signed for Halifax from FC United in 2011 and is their longest serving current player. McManus scored Halifax’s winner in last season’s FA Trophy Final, but he also suffered a cruciate ligament injury which is likely to keep him sidelined until Christmas.
FC United have played at Halifax two times before, the first being in a friendly in August 2006, famous for Steve Torpey’s wonder strike and the never ending rendition of "I am an FC fan..." from the FC faithful.

Our last visit to The Shay was on New Year’s Day 2011 in the Northern Premier League. FC lost 4-1 with Jamie Vardy scoring one of the goals for Halifax in front of a bumper crowd of 4,023.
