FC United member Leanne Carey is running this year’s Manchester Marathon on Sunday 19 April to raise funds for FC United. It’s her first ever marathon and she thought she’d mark the occasion by running it for FC United. “FC United means a lot to me,??? said Leanne. “It shows how if you put your mind to it you can achieve greatly. Seeing how hardworking, dedicated and committed the fans, volunteers and staff are in making this club of ours a success is just amazing. Here at FC, we have got something special and continue to be the example to others far and wide.???
A regular runner and a member of Salford Harriers who train a stone’s throw away from Broadhurst Park, Leanne said she’s aiming to complete the marathon in something between four to four and a half hours. “I really hope to raise a big amount of money for FC - a minimum of £1,000 would be fantastic. I hope that FC fans will appreciate the pain and suffering I’m going through for the club and donate that extra little bit! I am very grateful to every single person who helps me raise money for the club,??? she said.
