Fixture update - home games to move to Tameside Stadium

Following discussions with the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, FC United can announce that the league management committee has approved that all FC United home games from now until the opening of the new ground at Broadhurst Park will take place at Tameside Stadium, Curzon Ashton’s home ground.

Given the increasing number of fixture clashes with Stalybridge Celtic looming and the club’s desire to keep home games on a Saturday at 3pm, it was clear that a new temporary home venue would be needed while Broadhurst Park was being completed.

FC United general manager Andy Walsh commented: “We are grateful to Curzon Ashton for accommodating us and as a result we are able to keep the vast majority of home games on a Saturday which has always been a key aim of the club.

"We are also extremely grateful to Stalybridge Celtic for helping us out over many years by making their ground and facilities available to us. Their understanding in challenging times this season is also much appreciated. We’d also like to thank the league for their understanding and assistance.???

Please note that because it has proved impossible to avoid a clash with Curzon Ashton for our home game against Nantwich on 17 January 2015, this game has had to be moved to Sunday 18 January 2015 at Bower Fold, Stalybridge, with a kick off time of 3pm.

The first home game at the Tameside Stadium, Curzon Ashton, will be the Barwell game on Saturday 20 December, kick off at 3pm.
