Pound for the Ground ticket sales net bumper total

Pound for the Ground ticket sales net bumper totalThe Pound for the Ground ticket sales last Saturday at the Matlock game were a colossal 1,040 tickets sold. The winning number for the £200 prize was 1014 and is yet unclaimed, so please check your tickets as it may be you! A very healthy £840 was therefore raised for the Development Fund.

The second prize of a meal for two at the Rose n’ Bowl was ticket number 730 and is also unclaimed. The third prize number was 1321 and was won by Jane Davies from Tottington (or did she say Tottingham?). A fudge hamper will be delivered to her door courtesy of the Fudge Village in Whitworth.

The barrel collection was jump-started by a donation of £110 from a regular contributor and top match-goer, and there were legions, scads and slathers of coins and notes in the five containers scattered around the ground. The final total was a mind-blowing £567 also to be added to the DF. There was also 30 euros in small change and a healthy collection of foreign stuff. When we do the write up after the Grantham game, we will print a list of foreign stuff that we have accumulated over the season and we’ll ask for offers. Some of it may be from your summer holiday destination and loose change comes in handy for tipping the butler, the chauffeur and the like.

Once again it was a tremendous effort from all who contributed and many thanks are due to those who dug deep on Saturday. Don’t forget, we only have three games left at Gigg Lane plus tomorrow’s match at Stalyvegas - so please dig out your loose change and foreign stuff before the season ends.
