This season will be the inaugural season of the club’s women’s team, entering into the Greater Manchester Women’s League playing matches weekly and training once a week.
The club is looking for an ambitious, dynamic physiotherapist to be responsible for the care of the women’s squad who can work well as part of the team’s staff and also as part of the club’s multi-disciplinary medical team.
The post holder will be responsible for the diagnosis and management of injuries sustained to players of the women’s football team. They will provide immediate management of injuries as well as on-going football specific rehabilitation returning injured players back to match fitness. They will also provide advice and guidance regarding injury prevention.
The role will require attendance to all training sessions and matches. They will liaise with team management regarding player fitness to play or train and prognosis of injuries sustained. Further attendance will be required at physiotherapy/medical team training sessions.
The post holder will be a CSP HPC registered Physiotherapist (pending registrations will be accepted) with a sound knowledge of orthopaedic/musculoskeletal physiotherapy assessment, diagnosis and treatment. Training and support will be provided via the physiotherapy/medical team to allow the post holder to develop as an effective and skilled clinician.
Due to financial constraints the post is voluntary however the club will reimburse travel expenses incurred by the post holder.
