Hednesford 2-1 FC United It was third time unlucky for FC United on Saturday afternoon as the Reds lost the Evo-Stik Premier Division play-off final 2-1 away to Hednesford Town in a closely fought match
United found themselves 2-0 down after a disappointing first half, and despite a good second half fight back the Reds couldn’t find a way through and suffered defeat at the final hurdle for the third season running. FC United Women 0-1 Mcr City FC United’s women’s team lost the Greater Manchester Women’s Football League Cup Final by the narrowest of margins to a 46th minute strike from Manchester City’s Ellen Bergin to bring the curtain down on a fantastic first season despite the result. The FC Minithon is set for October 21st in North Manchester
October’s 2012 5k "Run, walk or crawl" FC Minithon has been classified as one of Greater Manchester’s Community Games events celebrating the Olympics and Paralympics. The organisers of the Community Games will assist in promotion and organisation of the event, alongside our partner charity, ACE Centre North. The date has been fixed for October 21st and will this year take place near the site for the proposed new ground at Blackley’s Boggart Hole Clough as part of introducing the local community to our club. Organisers have set the target of increasing the number of participants from 150 to 300. As in previous years, 50% of sponsorship raised will go to FC United and 50% to ACE. Stockport County Supporters Co-operative will also participate and we look forward to the return of our friends at Rochdale Hornets. Supporters who wish to assist in organising and promoting the event should contact phil@philframpton.co.uk |
