SAFEGUARDING IS EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY - NO ACTION IS NOT AN OPTION

In the light of recent media stories and as part of ongoing work to ensure our policies and procedures are up to date, FC United have decided to increase the level of resources allocated to this important area. Andy Cheshire is now designated as Club Welfare Officer and will work in tandem with existing Club Welfare Officer, Chris Boulderstone. At the same time, the Club's Safeguarding Policy has been updated to fully reflect the standards required by the FA and can be viewed in the "Our Club" and "Members' Docs" section of the website.

However each and every one of us has an important role to play.

REMEMBER...

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility if you are worried about a child it is important that you report your concerns - no action is not an option. If you are worried about a child then you need to report your concerns to the Club Welfare Officer.

If the child needs immediate medical treatment take them to a hospital or call an ambulance and tell them this is a child protection concern. Let your Club Welfare Officer know what action you have taken, they in turn will inform the County FA Welfare Officer.

FC United's Club Welfare Officers are Andy Cheshire and Chris Boulderstone who can be contacted:

     by telephone on 0161 769 2005 or 07914 015532 (Andy Cheshire) or 07813 913357 (Chris Boulderstone)
     by e-mail to andycheshire@fc-utd.co.uk or chrisb@fc-utd.co.uk
by writing to FC United of Manchester, Broadhurst Park, 310 Lightbowne Road, Moston, Manchester M40 0FJ

If at any time you are not able to contact your Club Welfare Officer or the matter is clearly serious then you can either:

contact your County FA Welfare Officer directly helen.cullen@manchesterfa.com
contact The FA Safeguarding Team on 0800 169 1863 or Safeguarding@TheFA.com
contact the Police or Children's Social Care
call the NSPCC 24 hour Helpline for advice on 0808 800 5000 or text 88858 or email help@nspcc.org.uk
