Match Report
GUISELEY AFC YOUTH 7 FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 1

If you concede three second half penalties, you are probably not going to win your game, and so it proved as FC United of Manchester Youth crashed to a 1-7 defeat against Guiseley AFC Youth at Leeds Trinity University (Horsforth) in their final league fixture of the 2016-2017 National League u19 Alliance league campaign.

Things had started off reasonably well as ELLIOT JORGE SIMOES INACIO had put the Young Reds ahead on just 6 minutes when he forced the ball home from close range.

It wasn’t until the 39th minute that Guiseley drew level, when CHRISTIAN SODA raced away down the right wing before cutting inside and placing the ball past Cameron Boland in the FC United of Manchester goal at the near post.

On 51 minutes, the home side went 2-1 up when LOUIS SQUIRES was left free to head home from a corner.

On 62 minutes, it was 3-1 when SCOTT SMITH was left free to curl the ball home from the edge of the penalty area.

Then came the first of the three spot kicks...

On 66 minutes, LUKE BALDWIN netted from the 12 yard mark after Sam O’Donnell was adjudged to have tripped a Guiseley player inside the box.

On 69 minutes, it was 5-1. ABDOU BOJANG was the Guiseley goalscorer from the penalty spot after Sam Baird had collected a yellow card for a foul on a home forward.

And on 77 minutes, the home side went 6-1 up. This time, CHRISTIAN SODA’s penalty - awarded for a foul by Lewis Unwin - was blocked by ’keeper Cameron Boland, but the Guiseley player was first to the loose ball to net the rebound.

And with just three minutes remaining, there was still time for Guiseley substitute KAYLE PRICE to round off the scoring with goal number seven.
