Match Report
FC UNITED of MANCHESTER YOUTH 3 ALTRINCHAM FC YOUTH 2

FC United of Manchester Youth will stay at the top of the National League u19 Alliance Division ’J’ League table ahead of the Christmas break following this narrow 3-2 home victory against Altrincham Youth on the Broadhurst Park 3G on Monday afternoon.

The Young Reds made a bright start on a gloomy Manchester day when CAMERON HORNER netted after just 40 seconds courtesy of a Sam Baird through ball.

On 22 minutes, FC United went two goals up as WILL SHAWCROSS collected a Kamahl Fuller cross from the left before firing past the Altrincham ’keeper.

Despite being two goals down at half-time, the visitors came storming back into the game in the second half and it was no surprise when they pulled one back on 51 minutes when DOMINIC O’GARA was first to react to a shot that had come back off the crossbar.

And on 69 minutes, the same player DOMINIC O’GARA made it 2-2 when he broke away from the home defence before slotting the ball under home ’keeper Sulaiman Sajjad.

But the FC United of Manchester Youth team weren’t to be denied and on 78 minutes STEVE AFFLECK was in the right place at the right time to steer home a Cameron Horner left wing cross.

And there was still time for FC United substitute Lewis Williams to rattle the crossbar with a long range effort on 84 minutes but 3-2 remained the final score.
